Q: How did you get into photography?

I’ve always been an artistic person and took tons of art classes throughout high school. I did a film course which I loved and I started bringing my camera everywhere (literally never went anywhere without it, ask anyone I went to school with!). I really started getting addicted after planning little photoshoots with my friends where we would get dressed up and I would pick the styles of hair/makeup/outfits. We would go out to a chosen location and play and have fun with it! It was great way to bond with my girlfriends and have a creative outlet.

Q:What inspires you on a daily basis?

I’m inspired by a lot of things but mostly nature, light, romance/relationships, the human body, and most of all, female empowerment. I am really passionate about boudoir photography and building confidence in women and helping them see their beauty. Every woman has the ability to be sexy and confident. As a photographer I have the power to show them that, even when they don’t believe it’s possible. Other female photographers inspire me as well. I am all about community over competition and love having a network of amazing women to grow with and learn from.

Q: What equipment are you using?

My main set up is a 5D Mark III and my Sigma 35 ART 1.4. I love the focal length, as it has a really artistic feel that I haven’t found in any other lens. It also allows me to get a variety of different shots from wide angle environment shots to tight, up close and personal images. I use a lot of off camera flash for weddings but besides that I like to stick to natural light. My other equipment includes: 5D Mark II, Canon 24-70L 2.8 II, Canon 135L 2, Canon 85 1.8, Canon 580EX II, Alien Bee 800 x2, Ice light, Paul C Buff Octobox, Cactus transceivers, reflector, lace (I always keep fabric with me as I like to manipulate light, so I consider this part of my equipment!)

Tell us something unique about you?!

I am a dual citizen (Canadian/American)! I love being able to work in two countries and hope to break into the US market more in the future. Also, I’m a closet singer. I absolutely love singing but it rocks me to my core with fear to sing in front of people. It has been a goal of mine (for longer than I’d like to admit) to get over that fear and start performing more.
